This album started in April 2018 during four days of recording at Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility. At the time, Die Jim Crow was a concept album project, a tapestry of different recordings from formerly and currently incarcerated musicians from across the country. A selection of these recordings were intended to go on that album.

As DJC formed into a record label and Territorial took shape as its own LP, many more musicians were involved in making this album a fully realized work, from Nashville to New Jersey to the Netherlands. Today we drop what we hope to be the first of more albums from Territorial, “Tlaxihuiqui” - Die Jim Crow’s second LP and our first recorded in prison.

”This is a difficult album, a journey; in moments incredibly dark, finding light and inspiration and perseverance by its ending. It is an album about many things, featuring artists from completely different walks of life. It is an album that could only be made in an American prison. We hope you gain something from it and take it with you on your journey.” - Fury Young, Tlaxihuiqui producer

On behalf of Kevin, Mike, Dane, Archi, Lefty, 8Bizz, and Frankie; we are thrilled to give you Territorial TLAXIHUIQUI.
